HAITI - Les Cayes has more than doubled in population, with new people arriving constantly. Many wind up at one of the city's 3 hospitals.

Dr. Robert Legr/Managing 2 Hospitals: "You are going to see most of them are bone fractures."

Doctor Robert Legr was retired. The earthquake spurred him back to work. Now he's the de facto manager of two hospitals, all the while seeing patients and doing surgeries.

Dr. Robert Legr/Manages Hospitals: "She had blunt trauma when I received her the first day. She had her bladder completely, open by the shock."

The hospitals are well over capacity.

Dr. Robert Legr/Manages Hospitals: "This person has already been operated, but we don't have beds."

Those with less serious injuries go to the tent city.

Dr. Robert Legr/Manages Hospitals: "Today I saw more tents, so they are arriving."

We just arrived here in this tent city in downtown Les Cayes, they say more people keep arriving here by the day, coming in mostly from Port Au Prince. The group that we're with, Bahamas Habitat and Reciprocal Ministries, are dropping off these supplies here. They're packed up by First Methodist Church in downtown Pensacola. The doctors say these are going to go a long way.

Dr. Robert Legr/Manages Hospitals: "They have no money at all, so even to buy soap, they cannot do that."

Dr. Robert Legr/Manages Hospitals: "So this is very important. What you did is very good. I think that this kind of help is very useful, is very practical."

But other needs are going unmet, namely surgeons and surgical tools.

Dr. Robert Legr/Managing 2 Hospitals: "Bones, and bones and bones all of them waiting for orthopedic surgeons to be operated."

Missionaries from RMINet.org have located doctors willing to work.

Dan Shoemaker/RMInet.org: "3 teams that would come today, but we can't find any planes to get them here. Transportation is one of our, it's killing us, out here in Cayes."Inside a Haitian Hospital
