Weather - Wind Chill
THE WIND CHILL INDEX...OR CHILL FACTOR...DEPENDS ON TWO PARAMETERS: TEMPERATURE AND WIND SPEED.
TO USE THIS CHART...LOCATE THE TEMPERATURE ALONG THE LEFT-HAND COLUMN AND THE WIND SPEED ACROSS THE TOP ROW. THE WIND CHILL INDEX IS FOUND AT THE INTERSECTION OF THE TWO.
FOR EXAMPLE: SUPPOSE YOU HAVE A TEMPERATURE OF 20 DEGREES AND A WIND SPEED OF 15 MPH. MOVING TO THE RIGHT ALONG THE 20 DEGREE ROW TO WHERE THE 15 MPH COLUMN INTERSECTS...A WIND CHILL OF -5 DEGREES IS INDICATED.
THIS WIND CHILL CHART IS PROVIDED AS A PUBLIC SERVICE BY THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE. A WINTER WEATHER BROCHURE EXPLAINING WINTER STORM TERMS AND DEFINITIONS MAY BE OBTAINED BY CONTACTING LOCAL NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICES, AS WELL AS NOAA WEATHER BROCHURES LISTING LOCATIONS AND FREQUENCIES OF STATIONS IN TEXAS AND THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY.

The primary threats will be damaging winds, large hail and the slight potential for tornadoes. The weather pattern will settle down on Wednesday as dry air moves in and high pressure builds into the region. Look for hot and humid conditions to continue ...
