COLLEGE BASKETBALL TOURNAMENTS-LATEST SCORES
KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) -- Top-ranked Kansas was in a dogfight against 23rd-ranked Texas A&M midway through the second half of their Big 12 tournament quarterfinal when the game turned completely around. Kansas went on a stunning 21-2 run when the Aggies went without a basket for more than eight minutes. The result was the top-ranked Jayhawks cruised to a deceptively easy-looking 79-66 win over the Aggies. Sherron Collins led Kansas with 26.
Ninth-ranked Kansas State will meet Kansas for a third time in a Super Sunflower Showdown Big 12 title game. K-State, which lost its previous two meetings to Kansas, defeated 21st-ranked Baylor 82-75 in the second game in Kansas City. Dominique Sutton had 14 points and 14 boards.
NEW YORK (AP) -- The 22nd-ranked Georgetown Hoyas thumped Marquette 80-57 and will be playing tonight for their eighth Big East Conference tourney title. Greg Monroe led the Hoyas with 23 points and 13 boards. Chris Wright added 15 points.
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- There were two big upsets in the Mountain West semifinals. First, eighth-ranked New Mexico fell to San Diego State 72-69. That ends the Lobos' 15-game winning streak and their hopes of getting a No. 2 seed in the NCAA tournament. Then host UNLV topped the 14th-ranked BYU Cougars 70-66 in the other semifinal.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Two bitter rivals will meet in the semifinals of the SEC tournament.
Wayne Chism had 16 points and 15 rebounds to lead No. 15 Tennessee to a 76-65 victory over Mississippi in the Southeastern Conference tournament quarterfinals. The Vols are 7-0 this season when Chism gets a double-double.
Tennessee's win sets up a game against No. 2 Kentucky, which overcame an 11-point deficit to beat Alabama 73-67 earlier in the day. John Wall scored seven of his game-high 23 points during a second-half run that gave the Wildcats the lead for good. The victory gave Kentucky its NCAA-leading 12th 30-win season.
GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) -- No. 4 Duke disposed of pesky Virginia 57-46 in an Atlantic Coast Conference quarterfinal. Kyle Singler had 18 points and 11 rebounds and Nolan Smith scored 15 points to lead the top-seeded Blue Devils. The Cavaliers got as close as 46-44 in the final 7 minutes, but went scoreless for nearly 6 minutes and were denied their first semifinal berth since 1995.
Miami earned a shot at Duke in the semifinals with a 70-65 victory over Virginia Tech. Durand Scott scored 11 of his 17 points in the final 6 minutes and last-place Miami continued a stunning tournament run. The Hurricanes had lost 11 of 14 games coming into the postseason.
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Ohio State and Michigan opened the Big Ten tournament quarterfinals with a thriller.
Evan Turner nailed a buzzer-beating 37-footer to lift the fifth-ranked Buckeyes to a 69-68 victory, avenging a regular-season loss to the Wolverines. The conference player of the year finished with 18 points and eight assists.
Ohio State will face Illinois in today's semifinals. The Illini upset No. 13 Wisconsin 58-54 in the second game in Indianapolis. Mike Tisdale led the winners with 21 points.
Sixth-ranked Purdue downed Northwestern 69-61 to reach the semifinals of the Big Ten tourney. E'Twaun Moore tied a career high with 28.
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) -- Juan Fernandez hit three 3-pointers and handed out three assists in a game-opening 24-8 run and No. 17 Temple went on to a 69-51 victory over St. Bonaventure in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 Conference tournament Fernandez finished with 17 points and matched a career high with seven assists as the top-seeded and two-time defending champion Owls beat the Bonnies for the 13th straight time.
In another A-10 quarterfinal, Terrell Holloway hit a go-ahead three-point play with 1:22 to play and No. 24 Xavier rallied from a 15-point deficit in the final 10 minutes to defeat Dayton 78-73.
TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- Randy Culpepper scored 21 points to lead No. 25 UTEP to a 75-61 victory over Tulsa in the semifinals of the Conference USA tournament.
Top-seeded UTEP will play Houston for the Conference USA title.
COLLEGE BASKETBALL-SYRACUSE/ONUAKU
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) -- An MRI reveals that Syracuse center Arinze Onuaku has a right quadriceps injury but school officials say he should be ready for the start of the NCAA tournament next week.
The 6-foot-9, 260-pound Onuaku is the school's career leader in field-goal percentage and is averaging 10.7 points and 5.2 rebounds per game this season.

UNDATED (AP) -- LeBron James had 23 points, 10 assists and six rebounds in his return from a two-game absence, and the Cleveland Cavaliers won for the 14th time in their last 19 road games, 100-95 over Philadelphia.
James was in the starting lineup after missing the previous two with an injured right ankle, and the league's leading scorer recorded his 26th double-double.

MIAMI (AP) -- Rafer Alston's season with the Miami Heat is officially over.
Alston was moved to the suspended list by the Heat late Friday night, one week after he left the team without telling any member of the organization why. He averaged 6.6 points and 2.9 assists in 25 games with the Heat.
NHL-FINAL SCORES
UNDATED (AP) -- On NHL ice, Tampa Bay defenseman Matt Walker scored one goal and created another a few minutes later when his shot deflected in off Vincent Lecavalier, and the Lightning edged the NHL-leading Washington Capitals 3-2.
Brandon Bochenski also scored, Antero Niittymaki made 28 saves, and the Lightning won for only the second time in nine games.
The Caps, who clinched the Southeast Division crown Thursday night, have lost two of their last three home games.

NFL-ROETHLISBERGER
ATLANTA (AP) -- An attorney for Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has hired a private investigator to look into a sexual assault allegation made by a 20-year-old Georgia college student.
Police in the college town of Milledgeville continue to investigate, but have released little information since the accusation was made a week ago.
Photos have surfaced online of Roethlisberger smiling alongside the officer who wrote the initial incident report. But the police chief dismisses the pictures, saying they were taken much earlier in the evening.
The two-time Super Bowl winner hasn't been charged, and his lawyer says no sexual assault occurred.
NFL-OFFSEASON NEWS
UNDATED (AP) -- The Cincinnati Bengals have signed free agent Antonio Bryant to a four-year deal, hoping the former Tampa Bay receiver can complement Chad Ochocinco .
Bryant complained about a diminished role in Tampa Bay's offense last season when he returned from a knee injury to catch 39 passes for 600 yards and four touchdowns.

-- The Washington Redskins believe they've beefed up their running game with the signing of Larry Johnson to an incentive-laden, three-year deal that could be worth as much as $12 million. Johnson is a two-time Pro Bowl pick who has run for 6,219 yards and 55 touchdowns in eight NFL seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals.
-- The Eagles have signed free agent wide receiver Hank Baskett to a one-year contract. He was released by Philadelphia last September and then signed with Indianapolis.
-- The Chargers have agreed to terms on a two-year contract with free agent cornerback Donald Strickland. Strickland started two of the 11 games in which he played for the New York Jets last season. This deal comes eight days after the Chargers dealt cornerback Antonio Cromartie to the Jets.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL-OREGON DISCIPLINE
UNDATED (AP) -- Oregon quarterback Jeremiah Masoli was suspended for the upcoming season by coach Chip Kelly after pleading guilty to second-degree burglary in the theft of a pair of laptops and a guitar from a campus fraternity.
Masoli, who had been mentioned as a potential Heisman candidate, will remain on scholarship with the Ducks.
Masoli and Oregon running back LaMichael James entered guilty pleas in separate cases,
James pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor harassment charge and was sentenced to 10 days in jail and two years probation for an altercation with a woman outside his apartment last month.
Hours later in the same courtroom, Masoli pleaded guilty to a second-degree burglary charge and was sentenced to 12 months of probation and 140 hours of community service.
MLB-SPRING TRAINING
KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) -- Houston All-Star first baseman Lance Berkman will have minor surgery on his left knee and miss two to four weeks. That could sideline him for opening day.
The 34-year-old was injured during a baserunning drill on March 1. Berkman skipped the Astros spring training opener before playing in five straight games as the knee continued to swell.
WOMEN'S WORLD CUP
GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN, Germany (AP) -- Olympic champion Maria Riesch of Germany has won her second straight slalom World Cup title with a third-place finish in the final race of the season.
Marlies Schild of Austria won the race in Germany by a comfortable margin, with teammate Kathrin Zettel placing second.
But Riesch's third place was enough to give her the slalom title with 493 points, just three ahead of Zettel.
Overall champion Lindsey Vonn of the United States skipped the race.
