Shiner vs Grapeland Softball State Final
Here are some of the highlights of the 1A State Final Softball game between the Lady Comanches from Shiner and the Lady Sandies from Grapeland. The game was played on June 4, 2011 in Austin, Texas and won by the Lady Comanches 1-0; giving them a UIL record fourth state title. Ashley Shimek was named Tournament MVP and improved to 24-0 on the season. Kristin Schechter and Ryan Michalec each had a double in the top of the sixth which gave the Lady Comanches the only run they would need. After the game Max Sports caught up with Coach Siegel, Ashley Shimek, Holly Hass and Ryan Michalec and talked with them about the game and the emotions.

A cold front has dropped into the far northern part of the Hill Country this morning. That front has stalled out and will not move any closer to the San Antonio area. We're expecting a few thunderstorms to fire up along the front and move south this afternoon. We have a slight chance that these storms will make it into the San Antonio area this afternoon.
