Comment: People can't live on what little pay we get now most of us live pay to pay after all bills are paid and paying the ridiculous price for gas by Nancy

Comment: of course it will help the economy, because the cost of living keeps rising. if the minimum wage goes up than people will be spending more money instead of trying to save it. by Daniel

Comment: I believe minimum wage is good for all, but i believe a cost of living raise should also happen for those who make more then minimum wage that live right above proverty and below middle class food prices are higher and gas is rising by mirta

Comment: That's never worked to stimulate the economy. This is nothing more than a small band aid plugging a huge dam that is ready to break! by David

Comment: No, it will not stimulate the economy. All goods will increase proportionately and your buying power will remain the same. It'll just make you feel like you're doing better finacially. by Glenn

Comment: Raising the minimum wage will cost jobs and raise prices, a very bad idea. Ultimately consumers pay the price. by Ted

Comment: Small buss. will suffer. They pay enouth taxes by David

Comment: Our economy is tanking and our fearless leader suggests raising the minimum wage. Does anyone mind spending $10 for a hamburger? Who does good ole Obama think is going to pay for such a steep increase in minimum wage? How did this guy ever get elected? And for a second time? by Shirley J.

Comment: If you have minimum skills, minimum education, minimal motivation, why should you earn more causing someone else to either not be hired, or to lose their job? by Shawn

Comment: It will cost jobs, or to cover the extra expenditure the business owner will have to pass the cost on to the consumer, which will not stimulate the economy. by Jeff

Comment: No, It doesn't it is just an old POLITICIANS trick to make them look like they are doing something for their constituents when it is just smoke and mirrors.. you get the raise and 2 months later groceries, clothing, fuel go up in cost. I have lived through 3 of these raises and they are all the same.. The first time I was like OMG Cool.. Then Gas went up to a dollar.. an encherito at Taco bell was 69cents cigarettes were 1.50 and they went up to 2.25.. Its a political scam.. and if you think prodects are just going up to even out the rate hike you are fooling yourself they will take as much as they can Govt doesn't set prices.. I bet Obama wishes he could. by Boyd

Comment: It will cost job. If employers are already struggling to pay employees, obuttwipes obamacrap healthcare, & higer taxes. How can they afford a raise in minimum wage. If the democRATs and obutt obama would like to cut their salaries in half and stop getting the life salary that they recieve after leaving office up, and stop spending so much. Then we might have saved enough to be able to raise the minimum wage. by Dawn

Comment: employers will have to let people go to make up for the added payroll by Mike

Comment: Requiring more pay for entry-level unskilled work will shut down entry-level jobs and slow the economy. Always has; always will. by Bob

Comment: It will make it worse!

Comment: But sure will help the people earning less. They might be able to pay some bills. by Guadalupe

Comment: more layoffs, less hiring by joe

Comment: Just another vote buying ploy by the socialist liberal democrats. Cut taxes if you want to stimulate the economy and to do that we have to impeach Obama !! by lee

Comment: No! It will cause inflation and additional unemployment. by Roy

Comment: If employers are forced to pay higher wages, they will lay off workers. Unemployment goes up. Simple economics. by Jane

Comment: No because everything else is going to go up on prices by Joann

Comment: No, but it will increase unemployment. If you artificially raise the price of something then less of it will be sold. If the government wanted me to have more wages then they should quit stealing money out of my paycheck. Poof! I have more money to spend, that being the stated goal and all. by Daniel

Comment: It will probably cause more job reductions. by James C

Comment: Many employers pay above minimum wage already ! What we need is more jobs and less welfare. by Henry

Comment: No, It will just place a bigger burden on small business owners. Not many heads of households are on min. wage.Mostly teenagers. by Rick

Comment: small business is the backbone of the economy. if small businesses fail, there is no backbone, with no backbone everything just collapses. Get off minimum wage and your behind get a trade or education and prosper. by Pete

Comment: Raising the minimum wage will only cause retailers and distributors to raise the cost of products and services to offset the rise in paying more in minimum wages. The solution is finding ways to lower the ever rising price of gas which is causing most of us to live below the poverty line.

Comment: Minimum wage will cause business owners to hire less workers and raise prices. RIP KM by Sa

Comment: It's going to increase cost of living...gas, food, entertainment, etc...and will make small businesses go out of business...just what the President wants! by Len

Comment: Employers will cut jobs to cover the cost increase of raising the minimum wage and maintain their profit margin. by Don

Comment: No,it won't. Because cost of living since the last increase is more than this increase will be. Just like Social Security gave me $22.00 for 2013. I contributed to SS for 45 years & this is all they gave me. My phone and home insurance went up $5.00 a month each, my auto up $3.00 a month, my rent $10.00a month, plus water, gas and electricity is going up. Not to mention the cost of gasoline. $22.00 a month was a slap in the face for someone who worked HARD for 45 years and I'm not the only one getting cheated. Minimum wage increase will be another slap in the face for many who are pinching penny's to make ends meet. Cost of living needs to come down, but good luck on that. by Mildred

Comment: Everything else will be raised in prices. by Brian

Comment: When the wages go up, the prices have to go up to cover the wages or lay off to make up for the shortfall. by Waddie

Comment: Raising the minimum wage will hurt everyone. It will increase unemployment and the cost of the minimum wage will be passed onto consumers in the form of higher prices. by Justin

Comment: Obama is known to use "fuzzy math" most of the time. He failed math. by rolando
