Comment: I think it should b on the count that they have no income and family members strive to help them by Diana
Comment: The calls are outrages! I was helping a friend out while the courts determined if he was guilty or not and the calls were outrages 1.st you have to pay to activate the code or card which cost like 15$'s or more then the first pick up of a call they charged like 3$'s after that the minutes were charged at 15 cents a minute and then you'd get cut off many times and go through the whole 3$'s 1st initial pick up again. I looked up the investors of these companies and became very sour towards these corporations preying on the poor, it's a farce and white collar thievery. Not everyone is guilty who end up in jail. by Denise
Comment: Yes, inmates need to stay in contact with family and friends. by Sylvia
Comment: MOST PEOPLE WHO ARE IN PRISON HAVE POOR FAMILIES, THESE HIGH FEES PUTS EXCESSIVE BURDENS ON FAMILY MEMBER WHO USUALLY PROVIDE FININCIAL SUPPORT FOR THEIR LOCKED UP. RELATIVES by LEWIS
Comment: Those poor inmates have families too. The deserve the best treatment the Judicial system can offer them. by Erica
Comment: Of course that's common sense - but we live in a world where GREED rules and those same companies who are robbing families are more than likely crooked themselves in some form or fashion
Comment: No they are in prison for a reason, there is no reason why they should get special treatment. They shouldn't even be allowed to use a phone. by Robin
Comment: Three hots and a cot, if its good enough for our brave men and women its damn sure good enough for criminals. No one is offering to make international calls cheaper for those in Afgahnistan. by Daniel
Comment: They want to raise our taxes but make it cheaper to talk to inmates... WTF! by Stephanie
Comment: Prisoners should pay higher prices to offset costs for guards. In fact why should they be allowed to make at calls except to their attorney? by Mike
Comment: Prisoners are (at least theoretically) being punished. by Bob
Comment: I don't think they should be making any phone calls. I don't think they should have access to TV's, radio, nothing.
Comment: I really don't care how much it costs as long as the inmate pays for it. If I, the taxpayer has to pay, then I better get several days of hard work from that inmate. They can always pick up trash, paint over graffiti or wax floors at government buildings. by Al
Comment: They are in prison to be punished, not on a summer camp vacation! by Don
