Comment: Why Not? What For? Deter a psycho. The predator will think twice about approaching a school with an armed guard.Part of the excitement is to commit suicide, they won't want to die at the hands of a hero. by Jeannie
Comment: I'm a corrections officer and I do armed security on the side, I also served in the United States military for 8 years. For me it would be yes because I have the training and experience to know what to do and what not to do. I know most people would disagree but with all the increased violence going on in schools across the country we have to look at all possibilities. by Mark
Comment: Our children are our future. So if we dont take care of them then who will. by Angie
Comment: times have changed, its not like when I was a kid and it needs to stay up to the times.. people wont go back the the 40,50,60 and on so step up to the 2013's and on by Carol
Comment: it's sad that it has come down to having armed guards at public schools but in the recent tragedy that happened last week...I say yes ANYTHING to keep my daughter or any other person's child safe at school!!!!! by analisa
Comment: Yes there is nothing more important to a parent then our children. I don't expect much but what I do expect is to see my children when they get out of school. If there is armed guards protecting malls they should be their to protect our kids. by Sidney
Comment: I say yes & if not that I think everyone in the front main office should be trained to handle a gun! just in case something bad happeneds by Jennifer
Comment: Just make sure they are professionals. $10 an hour guards would probably be more dangerous. by Joshua
Comment: Absolutely. It is the best way to protect children and teachers right now.
Comment: I think a cop or a trained school official should be placed in every school. Congress should fund it. by Randy
Comment: So...your telling me that all guns will be turned over including bad guys. No gun will be smugled in this country. the cartel on the border towns will bring them in like drugs. Did you know Mexico has a complete gun ban! How is that working out for them. Gun politics in Switzerland are unique in Europe. Switzerland does not have a standing army, instead opting for a peoples' militia for its national defense. The vast majority of men between the ages of 20 and 30 are conscripted into the militia and undergo military training, including weapons training. The personal weapons of the militia are kept at home as part of the military obligations; Switzerland thus has one of the highest militia gun ownership rates in the world.[1] In recent times political opposition has expressed a desire for tighter gun regulations.[2] A referendum in February 2011 rejected stricter gun control. Murders with firearms 68 in the U.S. is 9,369. Everyone in Switzerland get to keep there ASSAULT WEAPON after service in the military. by Joseph
Comment: Absolutely, unequivicably, without question! by Dee
Comment: Schools are currently designated as Gun Free Zones. How crazy is that? That's an invitation for a bad guy to commit a hideous act. by Mike
Comment: Absoulutely yes and give teachers with CHL's the option to carry. by Darryl
Comment: People blame guns for a killers actions when we should of listen to the NRA before, when they proposed armed security guards after Virginia Tech. We should of listen then.. by Jerry
Comment: Guns are not evil. They be used to protect against evil. Without guns for protection evil would prevail unchecked! by Kathie
Comment: Our kids deserve to be protected when we are unable to protect them. I would gladly accept to pay taxes to have a few armed security guards available at schools to make sure all children can learn without fear. The NRA shouldn't be blamed , they are not at fault, people are to quick to point fingers and blame someone without stepping back and taking a look at the bigger picture. Guns don't kill people , People kill people. by Americo
Comment: Yes ,I think that would be the best option and the best thing to do for the safety of our children. Security cameras are not enough. Hopefully they will do the right thing for the safety of our children and school staff to have armed guards to protect them during school hours. If banks can have security guards to protect peoples money and their employees, I feel that they should have armed guards to protect our little angels at school. by caroline
Comment: Don't blame guns, blame our society. Guns do not make decisions, people do! by Austin
Comment: Provided they are properly trained and maintain proficiency with their firearm, an armed guard would be an asset in our public schools. Having an armed guard on campus would reduce the response time to an active shooter situation which would have a positive effect in the reduction of victims and loss of life. by Rob
Comment: We are behind the times. They have been doing it for years in Israel. Since violence is increasing in the U.S.of A. we need to protect our children. by Jose
Comment: They already arfe in some high schools around the country. We need to protect our children from the psychologically unstable....They will always find a way to get a gun of they want one...protection has always helped deter some violence, and will help decrease casualities. by Randy
Comment: Why Not! At least they would be able to stop the Nuts before they could do a lot of harm. by Ralph
Comment: It would be an allmost cure all to the school shootings. by Robbie
Comment: We need to quit letting liberal progressives teach our children to hate and that infanticide is okay. by Larry
Comment: Not no, but Hell No! They need to pass laws to rid the homes of assault rifles, it's not a war zone or is it? by Annette
Comment: Putting GOD back in schools and allowing prayers in school is what were missing!
