Comment: It would create jobs, reduce violence, and get this country out of debt as well as be able to help those medically who need it!!! by crystal

Comment: Marijuana use is not habit forming like cigarrettes and alcohol, you also can't od from smoking or ingesting it. The biggest problem would be the munchies =) by Patricia

Comment: Better yet ask the cartel if they think it should be legal then do the opposite by J

Comment: I feel marijuana should be legalized because that usually makes up the majority of arrest that leads to people being on probation or in jail which uses taxpayers money & also people who are restricted from using marijuana are trying other forms of Synthetic marijuana that can possibly lead to death! by Crystal

Comment: It is a plant. It's not going anywhere. More money is probably used trying to get rid of it then if the government actually looked at what it can do healthwise and money wise for the country. It would surely help our debt. by Stephanie

Comment: Yes, because people have emotional problems and it helps them. I think its werid that marijuana is illegal and beer isnt cause beer is killing people than weed just saying. by Yolanda

Comment: For adults aged 21+ just like alcohol is. We always hear about drunk drivers having horrible accidents but you hardly hear of someone driving erratically under the influence of marijuana. I think if they made it legal to carry less than an ounce for your own personal use it would cut back on otherwise innocent people being arrested and charged with possession. If it was legal in the US and provided by the US it might also cut down alot of the crimes happening on our borders since that is one of the commonly smuggled substances into the country. If it is legalized it needs to be taxed the same as alcohol and tobacco and also have the same laws that apply to those. I think if the US can find a way to make sure it is possessed responsibly (like alcohol) then it wouldn't do much harm to make it legal in small amounts. by Aimee

Comment: In our economic times, our national and local governments could use the extra funding that would come from legalizing and taxing certain drugs. We already do it with alcohol and cigarettes, we should add marijuana to the batch. Also, the amount of money we spend arresting and housing drug users could be better spent financing drug rehabilitation and treatment centers. We want positive change in our society? Stop viewing drug users as criminals, and start viewing them as victims, so that we may be able to help them and improve their lives. by Reggie

Comment: Alcohol has proven to kill way more people in this city. by J

Comment: More people die from Tabacco Then Marijuana by Leslie

Comment: Alcohol does more damage all in all, FACTS ARE FACTS. by Maria

Comment: I believe that only people who have never used it are the ones against using it for medicinal purposes. They are so blinded to the facts that before Tylenol came out doctors routinely prescribed it for even headaches. I believe that they did away with marijuana because it is such a awesome remedy for so many things that since they could not duplicate it, because it does have zero negative side effects, and they could not patent it they decided to ban it and call it an illegal drug. If given the choice I would rather smoke an all natural substance to alleviate my migraines versus taking medications that have all of the warnings that they may cause.potential liver damage or ulcers, bleeding, and such. And just to make it clear I am not a current marijuana user but I have done so in the past. It has helped in the past alleviate the pressure of the worst migraine that I can ever recall getting. by Mary

Comment: If they do legalize it,i believe there should be an age limit to buy it and you can't smoke it while your driving. by JESUS

Comment: I believe an informed, adult should be able to put anything he wants into his own, personal, body. I just want some measure to keep him from trying to drive a car afterwards. by Bob

Comment: The way people lie for food stamps and other services, people will lie for the marijuana, and sell it. by Angel

Comment: I simply considered whether I want I my kids (18 to 23) allowed to smoke pot, and the answer was clear; NO by Antonio
