Comment: And why not if has nothing to hide!! by Bob
Comment: Why shouldn't they? If you are going to be a part of deciding who our next president is, I think you ought to be required to verify that you are a real, legitimate person. It only seems right. by Cory
Comment: You have to show an ID to sell copper scrap, so why not to vote! by Joe
Comment: If you don't have an ID, you have PLENTY of time to get one in time for you to cast your ballot. If you say it's a matter of not enough money, you have 3 months to save the money needed to get the ID. If voting is that much of a priority to you, you will find a way! by John
Comment: ridiculous requirement by gil
Comment: The other states that have successfully enacted this type of law did so by allowing for legal residents to obtain "free" picture id. One should not have to pay in order to vote. by John

Comment: Can't do anything else without a photo id so why would voting be any different. by kristie
Comment: This is a poor excuse to get more Democratic votes, it allows them to not have to come up with a "Dead List" to get more votes. Sad, Pathetic, and a Shame! by Nicholas
Comment: Beside it's the law. How convenient that these no-id voters all of a sudden don't have an ID's. by Desi

Comment: ANYBODY CAN GO AND GET AN ID MADE...YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE A DRIVERS LICENSE, JUST A RIDE TO A DPS OFFICE. I THINK THIS IS FAIR AND SHOULD BE ENFORCED!! by JANICE
Comment: This is not discriminatory in any way. The only people this law would inconvenience are the ones who want to cheat in the elections; for example voting using a person's name who has been deceased for some time. The law would make politicians be more honest and that is why particular people are crying foul. by Dottie

Comment: If I am required to show ID to rent a video or purchase a alcoholic beverage then why shouldn't a person be required to show ID to vote! If the Democratic supporters can pick up people to drive them to the polls to vote then they can drive them to the DMV to get an ID! by Jason
Comment: Americans are required to show ID for everything from purchasing home products like lighter fluid to operating a motor vehicle and entrance into buildings but not to vote for our nations leaders, come on. by Cindy
Comment: Most definitely...keeps things honest. by amber

Comment: It's hard enough to get people out to vote and now they want picture I.D. Preey soon they will want us to reside the Declaration of Independence before we into the voting booth. by Steve
Comment: Voting is a privilege & earned. Too much corruption when it comes to voting i.e.people casting votes with dead people's names. Our poor military can't even vote if they are not in the states & they want to allow ILLEGALS to vote. Give me a break!
Comment: anybody who does want to show an photo id card could have some dishonest intent or prejudice or just plain ignorant. by chief5
Comment: Yes it's called accountability. Ignorance floods anyone who thinks that it's any more than that. Dosent matter anyway after it goes to the supreme court it will be passed and we will have to show our ID. Besides any Adult "I use that term loosley here in San Antonio" should have a valad Id. It's a persons resposability to do so by James
