Are full-body scans at the airport an invasion of privacy?

42.1% Yes
52.63% No

Comment: I think that I'll feel safer that everyone is getting thoroughly checked. I can't go thru the metal detector due to an implant in my back....the body scan seems way better than a full body pat down....and I think saves my dignity as well! by christina

Comment: I'm OK with body scans. What I'm not okay with is that almost 9 years after 9/11 we are still trying to figure out what technology is most effective. It's embarrassing that we haven't moved onto securing our border or another vulnerable component of our security. by Zach

Comment: Not only are they an invasion of privacy, but it is unnecessary exposure to radiation. I work for a Radiation Oncology Office and the amount of radiation you are exposed to wilL build up over time and cause cancer. They say it is low dose radiation but if you fly often it can and will add up. by Andrea

Comment: The simple image of a person, without the close presence of the individual to match the person with the image, only heightens security at a time that is needed. by Kenneth

Comment: This is WRONG! NO long term studies done! What happens to those who travel a lot~CANCER! What if someone did not know they were pregnant? Totally SICK! Total invasion of privacy! by Rebecca

Comment: It's becoming necessary to take drastic measures in order for passenger safety. by Jennifer

Comment: I feel that because of the world we live in today unfortunately we have to take ALL precautions for our safety and the safety of others. As a frequent flyer I still have those pestering worries if the individual seated next to me has a hidden agenda. Full-body scans are a necessity rather than an option. by Cassandra

Comment: Is a pat down really an alternative? More like picking the lesser of evils. With hackers,I'd hate to see my profile on Facebook. by Monica
