Is "Forever 21" encouraging teen pregnancy with its maternity line?

27.02% Yes
72.97% No

Comment: With forever 21's maternity line, it will become more socially acceptable for young girls to be pregnant by Patrick

Comment: its a business they are jumping on what will make them money by chris

Comment: Just because there is a maternity line now available doesn't mean teens are going to be thinking "Oh hey! there's cute clothes for pregnant people let me get pregnant." No, if they think that they need some help. by Poppy

Comment: It's just clothes by Rusty

Comment: They are only targeting a market that is already there, not creating one. Young moms have been around since the existence of human beings began. It is not a shock now as it was not one then. Mother Nature decides when a female is ready to have children and it is up to the individual as to when it is time. by Rebecca

Comment: personally i have cousins and a sister that have kids in no way shape or form does clothes encourage a girl to get pregnant they will get pregnant regardless. and there is nothing wrong with looking cute pregnant or not. by Davina

Comment: The reason I don't think it's encouraging teen pregnancy because if it was that easy, there wouldn't be young teens girls getting pregnant. Unfortunately this business I am sure did their research and saw there is a huge market out there for a maternity line for younger woman and they figure hey let's make a profit. by Rochelle

Comment: girls are not thinking about how good they are going to look when deciding to be sexually active...but it never hurts to feel good when you are pregnant by Judy

Comment: This store shouldn't glamorize teen pregnancy by offering trendy styles to teenage girls. Once they are pregnant, their money should be spent on essential items needed for the baby, not the latest fashions for themselves. by Valerie

Comment: getting pregnant is a personal issue, the line just makes shopping easier and fun for young women who are already pregnant. Young girls aren't going to get pregnant just to buy clothes. by Priscilla

Comment: It is called Forever 21 not Forever15. All ages shop there, they are just trying to provide more for their customers. If it were so then would Gap and Old Navy be doing the same!?! Absolutely NOT!! by Sarah

Comment: i don't know if it's encouraging them or making it more acceptable. i was a teen parent & i believe the company should really think about pulling that line by becky

Comment: THERE JUST TRYING TO MAKE A PROFIT, SEEING THAT THERE IS A LOT OF TEEN PREGANANCIES. I BLAME IT ON THE MOTHERS AND THE WAY THEY WERE BROUGHT UP. by JESSICA

Comment: The teen (mother of twins) interviewed in your story, justified the maternity line by saying "accidents happen." I do not believe that a child, particularly twins, are an "accident." by Gil

Comment: I am 25 and expecting and i think its great that for us lower income mommies to be, we have a nice hip store providing us with affordable up to date fashion. Now instead of looking frumpy I can express my unique style in clothing no matter how big I get. by Monica

Comment: Yes, by making it socially acceptable to shop for maternity clothes in a traditionally "teen" store we are in danger of desensitizing this population to the responsibilities of parenthood. It almost glamorizes teen pregnancy from my point of view. by Monica

Comment: Epic fail. 1 in 2 Latinas will be pregnant before 20? Thanks Forever 21 and those who support it for further perpetuating this sad, sad "tradition". I'm taking my money elsewhere. by Cristine

Comment: It's not their fault teens are getting pregnant. They are simply offering clothing that is needed in todays trend. I was pregnant at 22 and I small in size and had a difficult time finding nice clothes in my size without making me look like I was were a bed sheet (no fashionable looking clothes). by Vanessa

Comment: In my opinion, the issue of teens having children has little or nothing to do with clothing sales or the presentation. The clothing store to me is simply opening a variety of different attire and filling a need to teenager's that are pregnant and simultaneously increasing income for "forever 21". In my thought process about this matter, teens having children is something that will more than likely increase or stay at the same volume due to the influences of parents, television, peers and family. by Victor

Comment: i think it would be good to have one in san antonio, because it is hard for young pregnant women to find nice clothes that fit. by CryStal

Comment: People need to stop blaming teen pregnancy on everything else and start talking to teens about it more. not to mention forever 21 is not only for teens!! I am a 23 year old and love shopping there as well as my OLDER sisters. by Savanna

Comment: By 21 they have already had two or three kids by Bill
