Comment: i cant go to any country work live etc. even get medical social security commit crimes and go to school etc. by k
Comment: Are you kidding me. Do you actually think the federal Govt is going to reform immigration after all we've seen so far. More power to ya Arizona!!!
Comment: Only those with something to hide, have something to fear. I commend Arizona for trying SOMETHING. Whether it works or not, is irregardless. The Federal Govm't isn't doing anything. by Vikki
Comment: we must protect our borders by Susan
Comment: Phoenix is the second highest kidnapping capital in the world, not country. They are desperate and our gov't refuses to help. Maybe I'll take a vacation there, my grandmother was born in Tucson in the late 1800's. by Pam
Comment: I will buy more! I applaud and Support the stand Arizona is making. And beleive every state should follow what the government is failing to do. Protect it,s tax payers security and dollars...Go Arizona! by Tim
Comment: Arizona has a right to protect themselves.. Texas needs to support and back Arizona. We need the same laws here to prevent the kind of crime wave that Arizona has commited by criminals coming in illegally from across the border. by Sierra
Comment: I think Texas should enact the same law as Arizona. It doesn't make a person racist if they're against ILLEGAL immigration. American citizens are being discriminated against by illegals taking away our jobs and resources. by Jimmie
Comment: the az. law just mirrors the federal law...I show my id @ the bank at the airport.. what is the problem...follow the law... there is a legal way to be here legally fill out the papers and be legal by kevin
Comment: I think Texas should enact a law simlar to the one Arizona passed.. by David
Comment: illeagle = law breaking Because I must follow the laws of this country, everyone else must also. Leagle immigrants and/or workers have nothing to fear, only the criminal law breakers. by judy
Comment: I will purposely look to increase my purchases of Arizona products, It's time to stop turning a blind eye to illegal immigrants and stop catering to them for political gain. Why doesn't organizations like LULAC work toward legal immigration. Fact is, we should simply emulate Mexico's immigration policy as they have on their southern boarder. by JW
Comment: the president is misrepresenting the fact of that law...if a person is stopped due to a criminal offense then they will be asked if they are a citizen and if they have broken the law the police have a RICHT to know....if they are illegally in the US we should have the right to act on it since the feds are not. By the way I am a proud Hispanic American by Joseph
Comment: Arizona is only enforcing existing Federal Immigration Laws. Texas should do the same. What is so bad about detaining people who are here in the U.S. illegally and breaking our existing laws? I am asked to show my ID anytime I am stopped by police or cash a check, use a credit card, etc. Mexico's immigration laws are more stringent. Why doesn't the media do a comparison on this? by Joe
Comment: I want Texas to pass the same kind of law! I'm sick of the crime rate in SA and on the border. Government is supposed to protect us but won't! What's wrong with showing your ID if asked? It's only wrong to those that want to break our laws! by Lou
Comment: If you are in the US legally, I don't see what the problem is. The whole questioning on your status is secondary item. Nobody is going to be stopped and questioned just on immigration status.
Comment: I support Arizona's efforts to fight criminals including people who come into this country illegally.
Comment: There is nothing wrong with the new law and it does NOT profile. by Kirby
Comment: you know i'm tired of everyone saying get the hispanics out what about canada put a wall over thier first we at least work what do they do for this country? by happy bunny
Comment: I would.......but they have no goods I want. Nor would I visit because well, not much they can offer me. by WendyLou
Comment: Let my people go by chris
Comment: the lanuage in the law needs to be clarified by ruby
Comment: We are required, throughout our life, to show proof of citizenship, so why shouldn't everyone else who enters this country? by Sharon
Comment: Already started. Did online search of companies based in Arizona and also cancelled a scheduled trip to the Grand Canyon this summer. I will not spend my money in that state. Putting my money where my mouth is and speaking with my feet as well. by Ken
Comment: Yes this the begining of a POLICE State. If we let them disregard our constitutional rights now it wont stop, and by our I mean everybody's... by Melanie
Comment: The key word is ILLEGAL aliens. The ILLEGAL aliens do not have the right to use and take away what American citizens pay for and have a right to use. There is a legal way to become a citizen and pay taxes like the rest of us. Bottom line, if you don't pay taxes and contribute to our society, you don't have a right to use it. by Michelle
Comment: The U.S. Goverment is NOT Doing Their JOB! Arizona should GO to Court to get that done. by scott
Comment: The Federal Government does nothing to protect us so it might take some action from the state government to stay safe. Also if they are commenting an illegal act they should be dealt with.
Comment: Why would anyone boycott the support of an already existing federal law. Since hispanics seem to take this so personal, why don't you comment about how mexico treats people who are there illegally?
Comment: I would actually seek out Arizona products to purchase. by Curt
Comment: Arizona are only upholding existing Federal Law. We need the border secure. by Patrick
Comment: We need to stimulate our nation's economy not try to isolate and cripple a portion of it (particular State). Sine the law has been passed in AZ there has been a decrease in overall crime (that speaks for itself!) by Josue'
Comment: illogical action
Comment: A police officer can pull anyone over and ask for your ID, whether you are Illegally in the country or not. Washington needs to wake up and do something about immigration reform that's fair for everyone!!!! by T
Comment: If you read the law, it is only taking steps to enforce current federal law (which is constitutional). The law specifically states that a person can only be asked about status if police respond to criminal activity or other police actions (traffic stops, etc.). Please give the full story on this (too many news outlets are not doing this). These are not unreasonable expectations. If I go somewhere in another country, as an American citizen, I should have my documentation (for my own protection). by Paula
Comment: It's not new for a country to mandate legal immigration or face deportation and most of Europe and Asia is like that. It's a great law that makes it tougher for terrorists to sneak in too with more checks and balances. If you really wanted to move to a country you would want to do it the right way, so don't make exceptions for anyone. by Joe
Comment: Arizona is the first of many states that will implement this type of legislation, to include Texas. For all those that say yes, be prepared to have the shoe on the other foot when that happens. by Mike
Comment: Only to show Ms. Brewer how crucial latinos are needed legal or illegal and how the effect on the economy will crumble in Arizona because of her incompassion toward her fellow Arizonians, legal or illegal. by Robert
Comment: Ignorant people who are screaming racism need to get more educated on immigration law. This is about getting people of all races that are not here legally back to where they belong. Alot of Americans are tired of supporting these illegals that get free healthcare, free housing, and free foodstamps which we Americans all pay for! If you are here leagally great but if you're here living as an illegal committing crimes and draining the US economy you need to either get yourself legal or go back home! Other countries that these illegals are from have more stricter policies about being in the country illegally. We need to be as strict as the Govenor of Arizona! Hopefully all States will follow suit. I hope Texas is heading that way! by Lydia
Comment: AZ is being picked on for this. If people took the time to read the law, it spells out that there has to be some other reason for contact by the police. You can't be "pulled over for being Mexican" as some are saying. I would be more willing to support AZ now because they are showing guts in dealing with a problem that they refuse to deal with at the federal level. by Wade
Comment: I think that they are right, and if anything I would be more likely to buy and support them. by Joseph
Comment: that new law stinks of racism and mean-spiritness. by jose
Comment: Our governor shoots coyotes, their governor jails them. by Martin
Comment: Arizona should be commended for this law. We have to show ID for for just about everything so why not proof of citizenship. After all they are breaking the law. Texas should implement this also. by Rick
Comment: They are doing the right thing. Illegal aliens are a drain to our economy, increase crime, and it should be stopped completely. Good for Arizona!
Comment: if you are not legal it is against the law if this is the case all drug dealers and other criminals should sue the states also. All stases should follow this law and maybe we can start speaking ENGLISH again in the USA by TERRY
Comment: Arizona's new law is a slap in the Face of Hispanics in their state and across America. Hispanics will be forced to carry documentation that they are citizens sounds like Hitler's dealing with Jews in Germany!! by Lubin
Comment: Illegals shouldn't be here anyhow, let the Police check people ... our country is going down the toilet because were filled with a bunch of Softies on a nice term... by A
Comment: Absolutely not! The law says that there needs to be a reason for being stopped or pulled over so even LEGAL immigrants should have no problems with this. The only people protesting this law must have something to hide! by Neil
Comment: Why would you try to punish a state thaqt is trying to remove illeagles, law breakers, criminals from thier community. What part of illeagle imagrant is not understood! by John
Comment: I fully support the Arizona law as it is overdue. The legal citizens of America are tired of rising insurance costs as a result of illegal immigrants as well as paying higher and higher taxes due to the associated expense, paid by the federal government for assailing and returning illegals. These people are sapping Texas dry and not paying taxes to contribute. I feel that such a law is needed in Texas, or just simply enforce current immigration law.
Comment: need to do something and obviously our federal lawmakers would rather buy votes and ignore this issue
Comment: No, I support Arizona by Tim
Comment: i Agree by Timmy
Comment: Follow the example Texas! by Timo
Comment: you go Arizona by Ti
Comment: I definitely would and so would my family and friends. This is one of the worst racial profiling cases in years.I didn't see the government scattering to make a law to stop anyone who was middle eastern after the biggest attack in american history.I'm mexican american and extremely offended and I truly hope the state of az suffers for this and lulac does something immediately cause if this were to happen to african americans you better believe the naacp, rev.jesse jackson, and many other respected african americans would be there in a heart beat boycotting everything that had to do with az.So I hope that all hispanics can unite and get rid of this law immediately. by Francisco
Comment: What does the word "illegal" mean?
Comment: We need to support Arizona! After all we are the UNITED states.I am hispanic and american. What would happen to us if we were illegal in Mexico? by Alice
Comment: This isn't about the hispanics, it's about the securing of our borders and thus our nation. I think all of the people in a uproar about the arizona law have a selfish self serving agenda. I don't think the power needs to be in he hands of the police but maybe a border patrol or special task force. Just think what if the mining incident and or the oil spill were acts of sabotage ? The possibility exist, as well as the possibility of terrorists infiltrating by sneaking through mexico. Now before someone screams racism, my wife and my inlaws are mexican and I love them all. by Chris
Comment: Makes me want to vacation in Arizona! by Gerald
Comment: Arizona is only trying to enforce existing laws that the Federal government isn't. by Terry
Comment: Arizona is only doing what our federal government won't. Is not illegal entry a crime. If someones willing to commit one crime, is it a far reach to believe they might commit another. Why are so many upset about showing their US citizenship? From things I've read, Mexico's immigration laws are more demanding and restrictive that Arizona's or the US and STRICTLY enforced. by J
Comment: thats just not right leave them alone they come here to better them selves not to hsrm snybody by Alma
Comment: I want to start off by stating that I am a disabled VET and Hispanic. I don't believe that we as Texans should get involved with any other State's governing processes. Our attention is focus is on racial profiling rather than the real issue at hand. The systems that are being utilized by Homeland security and our border patrol are not working. Why are we focusing on just Arizona's border issues and not any other State? I am a strong believer of fixing what is wrong within our own communities, and that is exactly what Arizona is attempting. Their are more important issues in Texas like how about drug testing welfare recipients, or a better system to track the use of the "STAR" card making it harder for persons to trade the usage of the cards for any other items, like drugs. How about updating the roadway construction materials to handle higher speeds, to reduce flooding, and last longer. by C.
Comment: just give me a list of Arizona goods... by Esmeralda
Comment: No, I'm going to visit and buy more now and tell all my friends to do the same by Tm
Comment: Gov. doesn't do anything about South America drug cartels in South Florida or Jamican cartels/crime on East coast.
Comment: I salute arizona for taking charge of their border.Texas should do the same.I will buy everything I can from arizona. by Jason
Comment: AZ law is a copy of the Federal law. Will we live by laws, or become a 3rd world country like so many? by Dave
Comment: Absolutely not. Law officials can only request identification if you have done something wrong, not just randomly. A similar bill should be adopted in all states. If you have a problem with showing identification then you must have something to hide. Any other country in the world has much more stringent identification requirements. Try going to Mexico without proper identification. by Matt
Comment: If anything i will go out of my way to find products with the name arizona on it to buy so proud of arizona tired of baby sitting and coddling the illegals GO ARIZONA you make me proud by sherry
Comment: white people need to get they shit togethor by matt
Comment: In order to curb the violance a lone the border you have to take the next step which enforce the law and further more the Mexican goverment is at fault for not taking care of there own people. Thanks proud Texan Arturo by Arturo
Comment: I will hate for me to go over there to visit with my family and get pulled over by an officer, with my young ones and be questioned about my residence status,i would feel harrassed and offended just because of suspesion..or because i am a hispanic here in the U.S by Diana
Comment: I will buy more and visit more. Way to go Arizona.
Comment: Speaking as a blackman, they've been racially profiling blacks for years. Despite laws it still goes on, if you're not doing anything wrong you've got nothing to worry about. Same rule applies here, if you're LEGAL, can't nothing happen to you!! I'm buying stuff from ARIZONA I don't even need!! by Stephen
Comment: Absolutely not. Texas should enact similar legislation to deal with our issues as well. The govenor of Arizona is to be commended for taking action to address this problem. by Steven
Comment: Something needs to be done to curb the Illegals who are stressing our welfare and health systems. by Bill
Comment: It would be stupid, what if we are next. I wish! You break the law you should pay, even if your illegal.WHY DONT WE JUST BECOME MEXICO HALF OF THEM ARE ALL READY HER.I PAY AND THEY GET EVERY THING GIVEN TO THEM, THERE IS A INVASION OF AMERICA, AND THEY WILL TAKE OVER AS I HAVE SEEN IN SAN ANTONIO.THE LADY YOU HAD ON EARLYER AGAINST ARIZONA NEEDS TO LEARN HOW TO SPEAK ENGLISH by Larry
Comment: what part of illegal dont they understand?there is ways for them to be here legally and they choose not to be.illegal mexicans give mexicans americans a very bad name.you cant go to the west side of town without it looking like little mexico.by boycotting arizona maybe that will keep illegals out of there state any way.arizona state should sue Rosa Rosales and the rest lulac for their enonomic ban proposal.lose the hats rosa.we should ban FUD products in san antonio.yes im mexican american, born and raised.get your papers and you dont have worry. by onepissed
Comment: Sadly, racism is alive and well in our country. The important aspect to note is how this law would affect the lives of perfectly legal and law abiding hispanic U.S. citizens in Arizona and other states that might now enact similar racist laws. by Victor
Comment: I support Arizona 100% in their actions against undocumented citizens and Texas needs follow suit. Texas alone spends anually an estimated $520 million on healthcare, $150 million on incarceration and roughly $4 billion on education of illegal aliens! Not to mention, the drug wars have already filtered onto American soil with little to no federal aide. Our problems with illegal immigration are shared with Arizona and we need to wake up. Without Gov't help unfortunatly it is left up to the states to do the best they can to protect themselves and that is all Arizona is striving to do. I don't blame them for the new law and I don't think they're being racist at all. They only want to protect themselves and their people. I wouldn't call Mexico "racist" for seeing me and asking me for documentation. They have that right! There is a way to come into this country and immigrants wanting to come into the U.S. need to follow the procedure for doing so. by Natalie
Comment: I would buy anything I can find from ARIZONA,and give them my full support.further more, any reference to NAZI germany is a joke.we are a long way from NAZISM,because there are many people out here, like myself, who stand and keep that from happening. this law does target a specific group of people,ILLEGAL ALIENS,pure and simple.anyone who protests it are the ones most affected by it. by DONALD
Comment: As a matter of fact I hope the media informs us of everything made in Arizona so I can go buy more!! by CJ
Comment: Why is everyone so PO'd that AZ used [unenforced] federal statutes to make illegal immigration against the law? by Patty
Comment: I read somewhere that there will be a signifigant reduction in crime in Arizona as a result of this bill being passed. This is essentially saying that by pulling over "individuals that fit a pre-determined profile" that will highly impact crime in Arizona? To me that is racial profiling in plain sight. Second, why stop with only Mexicans. Why not stop Canadians or Chinese that may look suspicious? A Canadian or Chinese person cannot commit a crime or enter the country illegally? Thats right...why are we only targeting hispanics? Lets start stopping all the people who wear turbins just to make sure they are not wearing bombs and see what happens next. by Clemente
Comment: I have not read the Bill/Law and refuse to respond to side A or Side Bs conjecture or agendas but at first blush I would not support a boycott on a fellow state of the Union. But will change my vote if I read and come to the conclusion that the Bill/Law is nationally or racially motivated. I do have one question though, what part of illegal is legal? I want my taxes, in the form of aid to those who legally reside in the USA, to go to those programs, residents and citizens who need the aid. I have nothing against anyone wanting to better their lives by coming to live, work and participate in the USA but let it be done legally. by Yeldesi
Comment: Illegal immigrants are not defined by a specific Nationality or color, therefore racial profiling would be impossible. I think that if someone, regardless of race or nationality, is found to be in America illegally then they should be sent back to where they have citizenship. by V
Comment: That’s just dumb, boycotting one of our own states because the federal government isn’t doing their job… If someone is being questioned for an ILLEGAL ACTIVITY I see no harm in them proving they are a citizen. There are WAAAY to many illegals in the country and it’s about time something is done about it! I think EVERY state should pass this law. by John
Comment: I stand behind Arizona law.
Comment: I applaud AZ and hope Texas has the courage to do the same! It is time we secure our borders, and stop the flow of illegals to our country. They are robbing us in funds that should be going for citizens. This is not a civil rights thing, it is a legal versus illegal thing. I don't know why any American citizen would be opposed to protecting our country from people coming here illegally and robbing us of our health care, schools, and welfare for those here legally that deserve it. This is a no brainer! by Joyce
Comment: ANYONE WHO WOULD SUPPORT SUCH A BOYCOTT IS IGNORANT TO THE FACTS AND HAVE READ INTO IT.EXTRA MEASURES WERE TAKEN AGAINST PROFILING.SORRY ILLEGAL ALIEN MEANS YOU BROKE THE LAW! by ED
Comment: I am not going to spent a minute or my money in Arizona nor will I purchase anything from a company in Arizona via the internet. This goes to show that Republican party has not change. by Roberto
Comment: Just because it is made somewhere else shouldnt make a difference, it the quality of the product. by veronica
Comment: We need to do the same law here in Texas by Bill
Comment: Arizona’s government is infringing upon the civil rights of fellow Americans. This issue does not only concern the people of Arizona but all people of this nation. This is an obvious attempt for racial profiling. I will boycott to prevent other states from following similar suite. by Claudia
Comment: they are here illigaly and should apply for citizenship the proper way and abide and respect our laws by joe
Comment: Texas should and must do the same. This is not Racial Profiling-the law is clear-only under just cause. We are the Nation on the earth without such a policy. by Scott
Comment: it is horribl thought to think that this day and time that were are going backwards insstead of going forward with this nonsense of racial profiling! by jay
Comment: If the police have reasonable suspicion that someone is not in the US legally I see no reason that police should not be able to enforce immigration laws. If someone is here illegally they should not be allowed to stay. It is obvious immigration laws only offer a simple "slap on the wrist" for offenders. The worst that can happen to an offender is that they get sent back to wherever they came from, where they are free to try again. There needs to be harsher punishments. I applaud Arizona and I hope that Texas follows suit. by Patrick
Comment: I think Arizona's law is unconstitutional and if they want to racial profile then they should secede from the United States. by Rachel
Comment: if your not a us citizen and you are here violating the laws you should be punished! by bob
