Surveillance Photos Released of Credit Card Thief
Alamo Heights Police Department released surveillance photos of a woman accused of robbing another woman inside a grocery store. Police say she stole credit cards from a woman's purse at Central Market then bought gift cards before leaving the store. The suspect is also accused of making purchases with stolen cards at the H-E-B in Lincoln Heights. If you know who she is, call police.

Texas district that axed sports may get new life

KINGSVILLE, Texas (AP) -- A South Texas school district that shut down its sports programs amid years of academic struggles may be allowed to stay open.
A news conference is scheduled Tuesday to announce a partnership between the Premont (PREE'-mahnt) Independent School District and Texas A&M University System. Michael Williams, the state's education chief, will attend the event in Kingsville.
The Texas Education Agency had threatened since 2011 to close the district if it didn't upgrade its facilities and improve academic performance. Since then Premont has axed its sports programs to allow students to concentrate on school, built two science labs and underwent audits.
Superintendent Ernest Singleton has said his March conversations with state education leaders left him hopeful the district would survive.
