Harlandale ISD Bookkeeper Charged
A former Harlandale ISD bookkeeper has been indicted on charges she stole money from the district. Officials say Melissa Martinez faces charges of theft and misapplication of funds from Kingsborough Middle School. Texas Tech won't raise tuition, fees for 2013-14

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) -- Texas Tech University students will not pay more for tuition and fees in 2013-14.

The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal (http://bit.ly/14BJvv1 ) reported Saturday that the regents' vote Friday applies to in-state, undergraduate students enrolled in 15 semester credit hours at Texas Tech, its health sciences center and at Angelo State University in San Angelo.

The newspaper reports it is the first time since 2008 tuition has not increased. The university has not raised tuition and fees for two out of the last six years.

Texas Tech students also will not pay more for housing and parking.

Last year, regents increased tuition by 1.95 percent. Tuition and mandatory fees for the next academic year will cost $7,517 for 24 credit hours.
