A beehive that's terrorized one west side neighborhood may finally come down. Yesterday the City Code Enforcement Department put up a 10-day notice on a vacant property on Madrid near Castroville Road. Neighbors say a beehive in one of the trees there has caused two bee attacks in the past month, most notably last Sunday when police had to shut down Allende Drive. If the property owners don't take action, the city says it will. "We'll go onto the property and we'll clean it,” says Marc Castro with City Code Enforcement. “If the bees are there, we'll have a professional come in and remove the bees, and we'll send them the bill." The city says anyone with similar concerns should call 311 to file a complaint.
