15 Year Sentence in Deadly DWI Crash
By: Jennifer Saucedo

A jury sentenced Gregory Mitchell to 15 years in prison for a deadly drunk driving crash that killed Ryan Bettcher, 29.

Prosecutors say in May 2011, Mitchell was driving drunk when he hit and killed Bettcher, who was walking along the grassy area. Mitchell was convicted of intoxication manslaughter on Wednesday.

Jurors also found that the vehicle Mitchell was driving that day was a deadly weapon. This means Mitchell must serve half of his 15 year sentence before he's eligible for parole.15 Year Sentence in Deadly DWI Crash

Hundreds remember dead Texas cheerleader
May 19, 2013 21:20 GMT

By BETSY BLANEY Associated Press

COLORADO CITY, Texas (AP) -- Hundreds of people are joining the parents of a 13-year-old Texas cheerleader to remember the teenager who disappeared in December 2010 and turned up dead last month.

Through songs and prayers they remembered Hailey Darlene Dunn's short life. The memorial was held Sunday at Colorado Middle School where Hailey was a cheerleader.

Dunn's body was found in March near Lake J.B. Thomas in Scurry County, about 20 miles northwest of Dunn's hometown of Colorado City. Last month, officials confirmed the remains belonged to Dunn.

An investigation into Dunn's death continues. Officials have not released a manner and cause of death. No arrests have been made.

Authorities initially named Shawn Adkins as a person of interest. He was Hailey's mother's boyfriend when the teenager disappeared. He has not been charged.
