Closing arguments are set Thursday morning in the trial of a man accused of leaving an accident scene after hitting a boy. Juan Manuel Lopez, 73, is charged with failure to stop and render aid.
Witnesses says Lopez left after hitting and killing 11 year-old Super Herebia. It happened in September 2010 at Old Highway 90 and 36th Street.
Oscar Balderas chased Lopez down and made him come back to the scene. Balderas says Lopez didn't want to go back because he thought he had only hit a dog.
"I was like no it's not a dog, it was a little boy," said Balderas. "He was like, no I got things to do and I was like no, you need to go back."
If convicted, Lopez is facing up to ten years in prison.

Insured Texas tornadoes damage could reach $250M
May 24, 2013 12:17 GMT
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- An industry group says insured damage from last week's deadly tornadoes in North Texas could reach $250 million.
Mark Hanna with the Insurance Council of Texas says the rough estimate could change as insurers continue to gather information from the May 15 storms.
A twister killed six people in Granbury where dozens of homes were damaged. Tornadoes also left behind significant damage in Cleburne.
Hanna on Thursday told The Dallas Morning News (http://dallasne.ws/14EQXpV ) that damage was widespread and several Texas counties were affected. The insurance group is also looking at homeowner claims and media reports of damage.
Experts say Granbury, about 40 miles southwest of Fort Worth, bore the brunt of the storms when as many as 16 tornadoes swept through North Texas.
