Five young children feel the support of a community after losing their parents in a tragic car accident.
Jeremy Ward and Sarah Luna of Atascosa County were killed late last month while driving on FM 1333 just outside Charlotte.
Troopers say a piece of construction equipment came loose from a trailer and slammed into their truck.
Sunday people in their hometown of Charlotte raised money to help their children with new living arrangements.
"We need to make at least an additional couple rooms for the children that are going to be there. This is all in benefit for her children," said cousin Maria Garza.
A fundraiser for Ward and Luna's children was held at the Charlotte Fire Station, where Ward served as a volunteer firefighter.

Urban renewal? Big US cities in Texas, elsewhere show strong growth
May 23, 2013 10:38 GMT
WASHINGTON (AP) -- New census estimates show most of the nation's largest cities have further enhanced their allure -- including several in Texas.
The new census estimates are a snapshot of population growth as of July 2012.
Texas has eight of the 15 fastest-growing cities with populations of 50,000 or more from 2011-2012.
New York remains the nation's most populous city, at 8.3 million, with the rest of the top 10 unchanged. Austin, Texas, moved up from 13th to 11th.
Suburbs in the South and West are also seeing some gains, such as those around Houston, Phoenix, Las Vegas and Jacksonville, Fla.
Other big cities showing faster growth compared with the previous year include Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Phoenix, San Francisco and Columbus, Ohio.
