A new pest control company has won San Antonio Housing Authority's $500,000 contract. Worldwide Pest Control bid for the contract after they say they did a test pilot on two buildings at Alazan Apache Courts. That's the complex that Fox San Antonio first discovered had an infestation of roaches and mice a year ago.
Fred Duquette of Worldwide Pest Control says, " We did what we do best, kill bugs." Duquette tells Fox San Antonio that his company's reputation is on the line since this was a big story last year.
Melanie Villalobos, the spokesperson for SAHA, says that the half a million dollar contract will include maintenance and emergency situations at all 6,000 SAHA units.

Hearing set for ricin-laced letters suspect
June 20, 2013 07:38 GMT
TEXARKANA, Texas (AP) -- Federal authorities don't want bond set for a Texas woman accused of mailing ricin-laced letters to President Barack Obama threatening violence against gun-control advocates.
Shannon Richardson's detention hearing is set for Thursday in Texarkana. She's been in custody since her June 7 arrest.
Authorities say the 35-year-old pregnant actress sent the letters to Obama and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg last month, then tried to frame her estranged husband.
She faces up to 10 years in federal prison if convicted of mailing a threatening communication to the president.
Her court-appointed attorney, Tonda Curry, says evidence shows that whoever committed the crime never meant for ricin to reach the addressees.
Ricin is a lethal poison.
Shannon Richardson has played bit roles on television and in movies under the name Shannon Guess.
