Waste Watch: City Plans to Spend $2.2M For Mansion -- Robert Price
The city of San Antonio plans to buy the historic Red Berry Estate.

The Planning Commission approved the acquisition last week, and the City Council will hear more this Thursday.

The property covers 84 acres and includes the 14,300 square foot Red Berry Mansion and a man-made lake.

The city hasn’t decided how it will redevelop land, but the project comes with a price tag of $2.25 million. Possibilities for the property include a housing development as well as more community use or open space.
