It's often been said that congress spends money like water, but is government waste within an arm's reach of most refrigerators?

Between bottled water, water in jugs and in-office filtering systems, congress drinks a lot of water.

We examined the expense records for every house member for the last three months of 2011 and averaged the cost over a year. The result? The tab for  taxpayers was nearly $500,000.
