FOX San Antonio - The Valdes View

Employees and patients are just getting familiar with the new Downtown Brady Green Clinical Pavilion. But they should have no trouble finding it. The University Health System has invested more than a million dollars in making sure this clinic feels like anything but a clinic.
More than three hundred pieces of art. Most of it custom made for the building. With many artists drawing on their personal experiences at the brady green.
This massive hanging piece by local artist Kathy Cunningham Little greets patients at the door and features four thousand hand cut tiles of glass.
There are the five-thousand so-called feathers created by a California artist that help shade and cool the building.
And then there are the eight thousand LED lights by artist Bill Fitzgibbons that will make this one of the most unique buildings in all of San Antonio, all year-round.
But officials are quick to point out that none of that should get in the way of the numbers that really matter. 162 exam rooms. 31 treatment rooms. Two MRI's. Two cat scans. A complete women's and family health area and specialists in just about every field.
All of it meant to, once again, make the name Brady Green a work of art when it comes to health care. The new Clinical Pavilion is a ten story building, but only six are being used right now. Officials do expect to fill the building out as they continue to offer more services and care.
