A new study suggests that drinking a beer a few times each week might help women avoid rheumatoid arthritis.

HealthDay reports the study found drinking any alcohol appears to reduce a woman's risk of getting the disease by about 21 percent, but having two to four beers per week drops the odds by 31 percent.

More than 1.5 million Americans suffer from the disease, according to the Arthritis Foundation.
