Investigators say a homeless man found in a bin at a Northeast Side recycling plant was accidentally crushed to death.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office identifies the victim as 53-year-old Richard Dean.

Dean's lifeless body was found Monday morning under a pile of cardboard at Logistix Recycling on Hormel Drive.

Investigators say there were no signs of foul play.

But family members refuse to believe Dean's death was an accident.

"He slept between that car and truck on many nights," said family member Lucille Green. "And he’s going to go crawl in a dumpster? No. Somebody killed him and threw him in that dumpster."

The medical examiner's office wouldn't say where or how Dean was crushed.

San Antonio Police say because his death was ruled an accident, their investigation is over.
