DEL RIO, Texas - Two men have been indicted in a gruesome case of torture against several undocumented immigrants.

Federal prosecutors say 32-year-old Atanacio Daniel Castro and 22-year-old Eduardo Rocha, Jr., both of Carrizo Springs, held several immigrants hostage and tortured them.

A federal indictment states Castro used a hammer to beat the hands of two male hostages and he also allegedly sexually assaulted a female hostage several times.

The two men then demanded money from the victims' family members in exchange for smuggling them into the U.S.

When federal authorities raided the home where the hostages were being kept, they found six undocumented workers.  One victim was unable to walk because he had been beaten in the knees.

If convicted, Castro and Rocha face life in federal prison. Two men indicted in human torture case
